Testimonials

“I have found acupuncture to be an important part of my care plan for chronic lower back pain. Tory provides a methodical and professional service. My pain level averages have reduced since starting acupuncture. I'm able to do previously painful activities with little to no pain.” -J.C.

“I’ve been living in chronic pain from fibromyalgia for years and I can’t believe that after just a few weeks of treatments my pain has lessened from a 7/10 to 4/10.My muscles and joints aren’t nearly as tender and I’m not having sharp pain when I go to stand up now! I’m so grateful I found you!” -S.W.

“I’ve been working from home at a makeshift kitchen table “desk” for months now and it’s not an ideal set up and I’m on the computer all day long. My neck and upper back have been so tight and tense I couldn’t turn my head without pain. I’m amazed that sticking some small needles in my neck would make such a difference in both my pain and stress levels. I’m a believer now!” -E.K.

WHY OUR HOLISTIC THERAPIES TREAT PAIN CONDITIONS SO WELL:

1—Your body Has Natural healing capabilities

If you’ve been suffering in pain for any length of time, you may have come to believe that you’ll have to deal with the pain forever. It is possible to not only manage your pain, but even reduce or eliminate it. Your body makes its own powerful anti-inflammatory substances and pain relievers, and our therapies signal the body to release those so you feel better naturally.

2—We use holistic modalities that work

You may have been told that you have to live with your pain. Or after many medications and procedures you’ve concluded that “this is as good as it gets.” Many times, we find that people who don’t respond well to conventional treatments, can get lasting relief from incorporating holistic therapies because our process involves addressing the root cause of the pain and hidden contributing factors. We work together to find the right solution for you to reduce aches and pains, increase mobility, increase circulation, decrease stiffness, and improve sleep.

3—We keep it simple

Reducing your pain does not have to be a long and complicated process. Our targeted holistic therapies coupled with strategic lifestyle modifications, can often result in fast improvement in symptoms and less pain. We help you get back to activities you enjoy and quality of life you deserve.

 Frequently Asked Questions

Is holistic medicine REALLY powerful enough to help my pain?

Holistic medicine helps your body make more of its own medicine, which makes it powerful and effective.

Will treatments interfere with my doctor’s recommendations?

No, your practitioner won’t interfere with advice given by your medical doctor.  All recommendations and treatments have an integrative approach in mind so you feel supported.

Will treatment conflict with the prescriptions I’m taking?

No, acupuncture is safe and effective and does not interfere with prescription medicine. Actually, treatments can help mitigate unwanted side effects from prescription medicine. More and more positive research is showing that acupuncture is a viable alternative to opioids.

What if I want to stop taking my prescription medicine?

DO NOT discontinue taking your medication. Always discuss with your prescribing physician about discontinuing/tapering a prescription medication. If it is your goal to reduce the use of a medication, first give your body time to stabilize with the help of holistic therapies, and then discuss with your physician how to properly taper.

What If I’m taking NSAIDS or over-the-counter anti-inflammatories?

You do not have to discontinue taking NSAIDS to receive acupuncture and holistic therapies. If it is your goal to eventually reduce your need for anti-inflammatory medicine, we can work towards that as your body stabilizes. Many patients have been able to successfully reduce and even eliminate the need for regular NSAID use.

What if I’ve had steroid injections or plan on getting them?

If you’ve had steroid injections you can still safely receive acupuncture, it won’t interfere with the injection or cause side effects. If you are still in the phase of trying to stabilize the pain levels and choose to get a steroid injection, holistic treatments can continue as normal and you can do both concurrently.

What if I’m considering surgery?

Many people seek our holistic therapies as a “last resort,” before they decide on moving forward with surgical options. It’s never too late to try a holistic approach because either it will help with the pain and surgery won’t be necessary or can be delayed. If surgery is necessary, then the investment you’ve made in holistic treatment will set your body up to recover from surgery better.

What if I’ve already had surgery?

Post-operative pain and nerve pain is very common, even years after the surgery. Our therapies can often help relieve this type of pain.

What if I’ve had pain for years?

Living with chronic pain can be debilitating and alienating. Our goal is to minimize pain levels and find strategies that help keep your pain levels well managed and promote quality of life! Even if you’ve had pain for years and there are structural issues (such as bulging disc, surgery, fused bones etc.), our holistic therapies can often help effectively manage the pain.

How many treatments will I need?

Typically, within 8-12 treatments people report a significant reduction in pain levels with fewer incidences of pain spikes/high levels of pain. Once pain levels are controlled, then treatments start getting spaced out. In general, the longer a pain issue has been present, if there is a structural issue, or an autoimmune component, more consistent support may be necessary.

For recent acute pain with no structural damage, symptoms should be reduced or gone within a short amount of time (average 6 treatments). At your initial consultation, once all the details of YOUR case have been gathered, the best estimate of results and prognosis will be given.

Will I be able to return to activities I love?

While rest may be recommended initially, the majority of our patients are able to return to the activities, sports, and hobbies that they love once their healing process is complete. Here, our goal is to support people as they gain back the quality of life they want, not limit them.

What if I don’t get any results?

While results are not guaranteed, between weekly treatments and some lifestyle modifications, you should get noticeable results.

How will I know if treatment is working?

You will know treatment is working because you will have more manageable pain or no pain, managing stress better, sleep more comfortably because you’re not in pain, and incrementally be able to return to exercise/activities that you enjoy. All your body processes will start to normalize as your body heals.

What if I’ve tried acupuncture in the past with no results?

Your treatments will be customized to your unique case and address the root cause of the pain to ensure the best chance of a successful outcome. Results are still possible for you.
